New Product Launch of the High Throughput Fully Automated Thromboelastography IHTEG6Release time:2023-05-31    14:34:34

On May 28, 2023, QuidelOrtho and Render held a new product launch of a new member of the IHTEG series, the IHTEG6 thromboelastography, at the 20th China Association of Clinical Laboratory Practice Expo (CACLP). Professor Xuefeng Wang, Director of the Experimental Diagnostic Center and Director of the Department of Clinical Transfusion, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; Professor Deqing Wang, Department of Transfusion Medicine, First Medical Center, General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army; Professor Qiushi Wang, Director of the Department of Transfusion, Shengjing Hospital, China Medical University; Professor Hongwen Ji, Director of the Department of Transfusion, Wai Fu Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, came to the scene, and hundreds of audiences, scholars and channel traders from all over the country gathered in Nanchang to witness this wonderful moment together!

Thromboelastography is the most essential tool for monitoring coagulation during surgery and has evolved into one of the most important instruments for blood product management in sophisticated nations worldwide. Many national and international standards highly suggest thromboelastography in the realm of coagulation diagnostics and blood product management, such as the Guidelines for Perioperative Blood Transfusion of the Chinese Medical Association Anesthesia Branch, the European Guidelines for the Management of Platelet Anticoagulation in Cardiothoracic Surgery, the American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiac Surgery, and the European Guidelines for the Management of Bleeding in Severe Trauma. However, the majority of present testing solutions on the market have several flaws, such as limited automation, difficult operation, and an excessive number of human interference elements, all of which are apparent pain points for clinical applications.

Based on rich self-innovation products and solutions, Render has deep insight into clinical needs, constantly strengthens technical innovation, continues to cultivate the subdivision track in the field of blood clotting, lean management, and process optimization of key links, and takes the lead in cutting into the field of blood testing with automatic thromboelastography, surpassing imported brands in terms of technology and achieving import substitution.

The high-throughput, fully automated thromboelastography IHTEG6 is lighter and more compact than the original IHTEG12, reducing both volume and weight by half, with the ultimate fully automated all-in-one operating concept of the original IHTEG series.
1Automated operation, freeing manpower. All test items do not require manual resolution or other manual intervention to achieve full automation of the test.
2Large-capacity sample compartments, 40 sample positions, independent testing channels, can be set up for emergency reserved channels, and come with the test
3The original microfluidic single-person reagent card, 8 reagent positions, a one-time placement of 70 reagent strips, anti-pollution, refuse to waste
4Disposable supplies, tip heads, no liquid system in the instrument, no cleaning solution, no maintenance solution, no waste liquid disposal, effectively eliminating cross-contamination and waste of samples and reagents.

Currently, with the improvement of China's medical level, the market volume of thromboelastography as an important segment of clinical diagnosis is increasing year by year. As the main platform for functional coagulation testing, the manual or semi-automatic operation of thromboelastography instruments has hindered its development. The emergence of Render's self-developed fully automated thromboelastography instruments, IHTEG12 and IHTEG6, will significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of the tests, reducing labor costs and the instability of the test results due to human interference. It is expected that the in-depth cooperation between QuidelOrtho and Render will further integrate the advantages of product technology, channel depth, and brand value to open the era of fully automated thromboelastography and lead the industry's development.
